Do perms damage your hair?
A perm can damage your hair when not done or taken care of properly. It changes the chemical properties of your hair to get that curl or wave. With a perm, you are not stripping it like bleach and making your hair very fragile, but a perm does go into the cuticle of the hair.
Can grey hair be permed?
Yes. A volumizing shampoo and more moisturizing conditioner can be very effective. Grey hair should be handled the same way as naturally pigmented hair. But just be aware that perms can cause discolouration and turn grey hair slightly yellow.
Long hair & special wraps extra
A permanent wave, commonly called a perm or “permanent”, involves the use of heat and/or chemicals to break and reform the cross-linking bonds of the hair structure. The hair is washed and wrapped on a form and waving lotion is applied.
